Ipsy December 2014 Bag Review & Photos

It’s time for another Ipsy Bag review and let me tell you…last month’s bag was soo awesome that I was very anxious to see this month’s bag…but spoiler was only ok! I feel like I got such great items in last month’s bag that maybe my expectations were a little too high..or maybe Ipsy decided to take the month of December off! :)

Ipsy is a monthly beauty box subscription service which delivers high quality beauty products to your door each month for only $10!

What I got in the Ipsy December 2014 Bag:

  • Black cosmetic Bag with Ipsy Keyring
  • Bumble & Bumble Blow Dry Cream (Sample Size)
  • Cailyn Just Mineral Eye Polish
  • NYX Butter Lip Balm
  • Tarte – Lights, Camera & Action Mascara (Sample Size)
  • Nourish Organic Eye Cream

My favorite item in the bag turned out to be the Cailyn Eye Shadow Mineral. If you watched the video then you know I had NO idea what it was or how to use it. But it’s actually very cool and a very practical (and easy!) way to put on eyeshadow. It comes with a little sponge wand and you can quickly apply your eyeshadow in a few strokes. Easy pease!

Next up was the NYX Butter Lip Balm. I was afraid that this was going to turn my lips bright pink..but it didn’t. It was a perfect mix of translucent color and moisturizing element.

The Tarte mascara is great, but just receiving a sample size was kind of a tease! I already own this mascara and do like it. In fact, I like it a whole lot better than the mascara that I got in the Neiman Marcus Pop Sugar Box, for sure!

I haven’t used the Bumble & Bumble Blow Dry Cream yet, but like the Tarte mascara I was kinda bummed that it was a sample size. I’m the type of person who needs to try out a new product for a few times before I decide whether or not I like it..and when there is only a single’s kinda hard to do that.

Lastly was the Organic Natural Eye Cream. This cream smells great.

Since my daughter Saylor was with me while I was taking pictures of the Ipsy Bag contents, I decided to give her a little makeover and used the NYX lip balm, the Tarte mascara & the Cailyn Eye polish on her :)

  1. My box was almost totally different! I got the Lip Balm and Mascara, but everything was different – a Facial Cleanser by Beauty Without Cruelty, Pixi by Petra Fairy Dust, and a Shadow/Crease Brush. I agree, November’s was so good that December’s left me feeling a little sad. I’ve been a subscriber for about 6 months and this was my least favorite one so far.
